Friday Wrap-Up

The Japanese thinger didn't get done. Neither did much of anything else last night. As a result I am spending Calc and Japanese curled up in the Physics lounge. What can I say? I fail at life.

Things I have to do today:

Deposit paycheck and tax refund check. This means getting myself into town and to the bank before it closes.

Finish off the damned passport application and submit it. It's been in my backpack for two weeks now mostly filled out. Payday has come and it's time to stop procrastinating. This also means going to town, and since the bank closes after the post office, I don't think I'll have any trouble getting teh monies taken care of.

Turn in the medical form thing for the study group. That's on my desk and hasn't been touched yet. It's project number one when I get out of Physics.

Submit the financial aid stuff. It's only a week overdue. Don't get any more behind or you won't be coming back to school next year. Stupid self.

Sometime between now and Monday do your Japanese homework, your Calc homework, and your Physics homework. There are three days in the weekend counting today, and there are three assignments. This is not a coincidence. Do the goddamn things already.

Go to Wayne's and get something other than rice to eat this weekend. Maybe rritos, maybe something else. Just get some food, because you know that during Spring Party Weekend you won't want to leave your dorm.

Pick up your cable from the bookstore. Then upload all the shit you've ripped to Clicky. You will thank yourself when you can listen to more than just the metal you ripped while you were home. Yes, you like that, but variation is /good/.

On that note, now that you've gotten paid you can buy some more music. Decide whether you're getting The Human Equation or Lemuria and Sirius B. Also, since you got your tax check you are allowed one GBA game, since you've been lusting after non-Godzilla/non-Mana action. You're getting FF1/2, because you know the gameplay style of Chain of Memories will hurt your brain.

Casual note to your stupid self- check and see how big that refund check actually is. I'm not suggesting you work evil with it or anything, but it might also cover a volume of Saiyuki or two. Getting a bishy fix is /not/ a bad thing. Who are we kidding? You'll blow everything at FYE. Dork.

Oh, and idiot self? Stop listening to the stupid Star Wars Gangsta Rap over and over again. It's bad for you. Singing "Luke! Use the Force and run, run to Dagobah. Run to Dagobah." all day is /not/ a sign of intelligence. It's a sign that your computer needs to block off New Grounds. The fact that you have the song on your iPod makes it worse.

Sorry about that. Got off on a tangent, I did. You don't want to see my to-do list or my notes to self. You want to hear me bitch about Trad and stuff. Yes you do.

It actually wasn't so bad today, a fact which I attribute to the subject matter. We were talking about what makes a good leader, how a philosopher-king can get his subjects to acknowledge a common good that htye can't comprehend or derive on their own, and suchlike. The general result was me thinking about various characters I've had and whether they're Gold (Philosopher-kings), Silver (Guardians), or Bronze/Iron (Producers) people. Most of them fall into the Silver category, and I see myself somewhere between gold and silver.

Well, I'm smart and live by logic mostly. But I'm not teh uber and I don't know better than everyone else. I'm not much of a warrior of the Light though. So maybe I'm...Pewter. Or Gold-plate. The sort that turns your skin green after prolonged exposure.

I'm liking this part of the class more than I liked the religion part of it, but it seems that after this bit we're going right back to Christianity. *nosewrinkle* I really wish I'd gotten the prof that teaches almost all Iliad and nothing else. We're only doing two days of Homer. Teh suke, man. Teh suke.

And now my wrists hurt, so I'm going to go. Mebbe stuff later when I'm not doing things I should.

Weather

It's sunny and partially cloudy. May turn out to be a good day.
